How to add Bizum to WooCommerce with Redsys

Request Bizum from your bank, enable it in the plugin, and pick redirect or the InSite checkout with no redirect.

The short answer

Bizum works on WooCommerce through Redsys. Ask your bank to enable Bizum on your virtual POS, then turn it on in the plugin. There are two modes: redirect (in every plugin, including the free Lite) and Bizum InSite in the checkout with no redirect (Premium).

What is Bizum

Bizum is Spain's mobile payment system with 25M+ users. Customers pay with their phone number and confirm in their banking app — no card needed.

Requirements

You need Redsys already working on your store (see how to set up Redsys) and Bizum enabled on your virtual POS — ask your bank. Then enable Bizum in the plugin.

Enable Bizum by redirect

Redirect is included in every plugin, including the free Lite.

  1. In WooCommerce > Settings > Payments, open the Bizum (redirect) gateway.
  2. Enter the same Redsys credentials you use for cards (merchant code, terminal, secret key).
  3. Enable it and save. At checkout the customer is sent to the Redsys Bizum page, enters their phone and confirms in their banking app.

Bizum InSite (no redirect, Premium)

Bizum InSite keeps customers on your checkout — they type their phone in a field, with no redirect.

  1. In the Premium plugin, enable the Bizum InSite gateway.
  2. A phone field appears directly in your checkout.
  3. The plugin detects customers without Bizum and hides the option to avoid failed payments.
  4. Optionally set a maximum order amount if your bank limits Bizum transactions.

In PrestaShop, Bizum InSite supports 12 European countries. In WooCommerce it is primarily Spain.

Refunds

You can refund Bizum payments, full or partial, from the WooCommerce order screen — same as cards.
